Brook Bennett is a highly-skilled realtime writer for Alternative Communication Services. She graduated with a degree in closed captioning from Stark State College of Technology. Since then, Brook has provided CART and captioning services for many government agencies and departments in Washington DC. Her experience transcends a variety of venues including universities, courtrooms, conferences, meetings, physicians' offices, and concerts. Brook currently lives in New York City, and provides remote and on-site services across the United States and Canada. Recently, Brook spent six months traveling the world including: The U.K., Iceland, The U.A.E., Oman, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and China. The experience was life changing.

John Cano manages the financial operations for Alternative Communication Services and has over 15 years experience in coordination and event planning. Prior to working with ACS, John was operations manager and director of member services for several art service and performing arts programs in Miami. He holds a bachelor's degree in Art History with a minor in business administration and public administration from the University of South Florida in Tampa.  Currently John is attending Sheridan Technical Center in Hollywood, Florida for court reporting. He looks forward to broadcasting captioning in his future.
 
Mike Cano is a highly-certified realtime writer and Manager/Owner of Alternative Communication Services.  He is based out of Tampa, Florida, and has earned his RMR, CRR, CBC and CCP.  These certifications verify Mike's writing ability; however his humor, positive nature and warm personality are what define him.  Mike looks forward to working with other highly-skilled writers and doing whatever he can to assist others in their realtime pursuits.  Mike volunteers his skill with a number of support groups focused on the needs of those with hearing loss.
 
T.J. DiGrazia, Operations Manager for Alternative Communication Services, has over five years experience in the CART/Captioning industry.  Prior to working at ACS, T.J. worked for a Fortune 5 financial institution as a Credit Analyst.  He holds a BA and MBA from National-Louis University.  He is on the front line of ACS managing client relationships and coordinates over 75 writing and transcription co-workers.  He manages virtually all scheduling activity and trains new clients on how to use the services provided by ACS. He was instrumental in coordinating an interface between our Scheduling Application Management program (SAM) and our internet-based text service, StreamText. T.J. brings a unique combination of authority, knowledge and warmth to the overall operation.

Bill Graham is Director of Advocacy and Education for Alternative Communication Services. Bill has been a longtime consumer advocate on disability issues, particularly those involving deaf and hard-of-hearing people. He co-founded the Association of Late-Deafened Adults (ALDA) and has served on many local and national boards, including Lighthouse International, the National Court Reporter's Foundation, VITAC Caption Viewers Advisory Panel, and the Gallaudet University Board of Trustees. He also has had a distinguished career in the publishing industry, most recently as a managing editor at Microsoft, Inc., and Websters Multimedia, Inc. He introduced remote captioning for meetings at Microsoft and Websters and won a company-wide award at Microsoft for helping to drive the inclusion of closed captioning in Encarta Encyclopedia, the first multimedia reference product to have captioning.

Karen Kozlowski Graham is CEO of SignOn and a collaborative partner of Alternative Communication Services, and has been involved in human service management, social work and interpreting for over 30 years. She has a BS from Northwestern University in the field of Communicative Disorders and an MSW from the University of Chicago in Social Service Administration. She was founder and then director of an award-winning psychiatric rehabilitation center for deaf people for ten years. Karen is published and presents in the areas of substance abuse, mental illness, and late-onset deafness. She has helped to design and develop many social service programs and has been involved in coordinating numerous national workshops and conferences on issues pertinent to deaf people. She’s one of the founding owners of SignOn.

Philip A. Hyssong is a Manager/Owner of Alternative Communication Services and continues to use his 25 years of management experience at ACS.  Prior to launching ACS with Mike, Phil was Executive Director of a media company specializing in Christian media that focused on the needs of people who were deaf or hard of hearing.   Further, he held the position of vice president of a CART and captioning company for over 6 years.  He holds an undergraduate degree in Education from Concordia University Chicago, a Master's degree in Instructional Design from Northern Illinois University, is a Certified Manager of Reporting Services through the National Court Reporters Association and successfully completed the TypeWell training program.

Jack Nunn serves as the coordinator for Realtime Fitness Online, the educational division of Alternative Communication Services. He will graduate in 2012 with a BA in Urban Studies from Hunter College. Presently, he is CEO of Rescue IT LLC, a full-service information technology company. Jack has extensive experience with providing technology services in the educational and small business sector. Jack looks forward to helping RFO build a strong market presence and customer base.

Rick R. Prickett is the Special Projects Manager bringing to Alternative Communication Services over 25 years experience in disability services. Rick will be assisting in Convention Management, Scheduling Application Management (SAM), Communication Services and New Business opportunities. Rick was a certified sign language interpreter and worked with the Association on Higher Education And Disability (AHEAD) where he introduced their professional membership to businesses providing services much needed by Disability Student Service providers. Also, he assists in marketing for Disability Compliance in Career and Online Learning (DCCOL), a consulting company that works with institutions providing online learning to ensure they are meeting their legal compliance obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. In addition to disability services, his marketing background has allowed him to work with various industries of interest providing for a broad view of experiences, including arts and culture organizations, the tourism industry, animal conservation and preservation and environmental, senior and children's issues.

Fred Wootten serves as Director of Program Design and Implementation for Alternative Communication Services. Fred's educational background includes a degree in Interactive Media. In addition to his education, Fred's professional experience includes 12 years at Bayshore Solutions where he is currently employed as a Senior Programmer. The skills shared by Fred at ACS have revolutionized how programming and scheduling are handled at ACS.  His programming expertise has allowed ACS to do the work of several positions with a few clicks of the mouse. With staff direction, Fred built the Scheduling Application Management Program (SAM) which integrates all client information, job information and accounting information. SAM is now sought after by a number of service-providing entities. Further, Fred's website development has created a user-friendly, educational environment for our visitors and writing/transcriber staff.
